Learners’ knoit different categories of errors, includingmorphological, lexical, syntactical, and so on. In the field of Second Languageresearch, universityenglish/ EA is an important method. From 1960s to 1970s, EA had played a central rolein learners’ language studies. The origin of this approach can be traced back topsycholinguistics. The main assumptions of EA are: Many learners’ errors are not dueto the interference of First Language (L1) but due to learners themselves and improperlearning strategies. Errors occur not only in L2 but also in L1; mitting errors isunavoidable, and is a natural phenomenon before correct language rules arepletely internalized. The corpus-based analysis approach is very advantageous for the studies of erroranalysis. It depends much on the application of puters, alloent of putersciences, many corpora have been constructed, including learners’corpora. Alearners’corpus is a poong them, ChineseLearner English Corpus (CLEC) is the typical one in China. CLEC is a languagedatabase constructed by collecting Chinese English Learners’ language output in boths. CLEC gives researchers a prehensive and systematicdescription of Chinese English Learners’ language errors.
