Teaching plan Time of lesson: 45 minutes Students: Senior Grade One Teaching Material: No Drugs Teaching Objectives: To enable the students to learn about vocabulary, useful expressions and language items. To develop Ss’ basic skills of reading for knowledge and reading for information. Reading skills for Ss including predicting, skimming, scanning, questioning and summarizing. To encourage Ss to practice, participate, and co-operate in the classroom activities. Enable the Ss to develop different levels of thinking like remembering, understanding, analyzing, applying and creating. To get Ss to have a better understanding of the exploration spirit of everybody’s contribution to make a better world. While-class Teaching Procedure: Step 1 Leading-in At the very beginning, come straight to the point. The teacher talks about her own passive smoking experience . Then lead in the topic—smoking and drugs. Ask one student to show the information that she collected about smoking. (ppt,a class report as usual ) To help the students learn more information about smoking—the situation and the harm. To guide them to think : Should they smoke in the future? Finally , ask one student to make a comment on the speech. Step 2 Brainstorm Guide the students to review the vocabulary and expressions what they learned about health. At first , the student announce them one by one. Then go through together. Help the students know well :The more they remember ,the more progress they will make! Step 3 Reading Activity 1 Material (1) Let the students to skim the passage adapted from the text and finish the exercise quickly. The students can exchange and discuss their answers in pairs. And then ,check the answers together. Finally let them read the passage loudly . By dealing with these , the students can understand the text well. Activity 2 Material (2) Because the text is easy for the students , so they are required to read a more difficult passage from the Internet(one piec
