AbstractThis paper studies the thermal behaviours of the squeeze-casting,quenching,andaging(175C，5h、15h、30h)statesAZ91alloysandSiCw/AZ91composites.Thethermalcyclingexperimentwasdonebydilatometer.Thehighlimitoftemperaturewas400C,therateofcalorictestwas 5C/min,andwedo3cycles.Themicrostructurethatbeginandafterofthematerialswereexaminedbymeansofopticalmicroscope(OM),scanningelectronmicroscope(SEM)andtransmissionelectronmicroscope(TEM).To comparedthethermalcyclingcurveofsqueeze-castingalloy withdie-castingalloy，itisshowsthatthethermalbehaviorofthesqueeze-castingalloyimpactedbytheresidualstrainandtheprecipitatedphase.Dothesolidsolutiontothealloy,theresidualstrainreducetheCTEsharply.Dotheaging(5h、15h)tothealloy,themorethequantitativeoftheprecipitated,thelowertheCTE.Dotheaging(5h)tothealloy,itisshowsthattheresidualstraindothechiefeffection.Tocomparedthethermalcyclingcurveofthesqueeze-castingSiCw/AZ91compositewith thesqueeze-casting alloy,thecomposite’shysteresisringshowsairregularityandwidthsharp,theCTEisobviousfallingdown,thepositivestrainoccursduringthethermalcycling.Allthesechangesresultintheinputofwhiskers，whichreducetheCTE,whiledolittleinfluencetothecyclestability.Dothe solidsolutiontothecomposites, theresidualstrain reducethe CTEsharply.Dotheaging(5h、15h)tothecomposites,themorethequantitativeoftheprecipitated,thelowertheCTE.Dotheaging(15h)tothecomposites,itshowsthelowCTE.Allofthecompositesshowaelastic-plastictransitionduringthespecialtemperatureinterval(320~370C).Therearebothvalleyandpeakappearingatthermalcyclingcurve.Thevalleyresultsinthequickrelaxationofgreatresidualstress,whilethepeakresultsinthereduceofspeedthatcausedbytheelastic-plastictransition.Keywordsmagnesium matrix composite, thermal expansion, coefficient ofthermalexpansion,heatingtreat目录摘要...............................................................................................................................IAbstract ....................................................................
