298 / 2009 2 BC/ CMC Preparation and Research of BC/ CMC Nanocomposite , ( , 300457) ZH O Zi-nian, LIU Jia-qi (College of Material Science and Chemical Engineering, T ianjin University of Science T echnology, Tianjin 300457, China) : ( CMC) ( BC) , BC/ CMC , CMC : CM CBC , BC , BC ,, ;CMC, BC , : BC; CM C; ;; : : 1001-4381( 2009) Suppl2-0298-04 Abstract: Bacterial Cellulose (BC)/ Carboxymethyl Cellulose Sodium (CMC) nanocomposite was syn- thesized through the method of adding CMC to the growth medium of the cellulose-producing bacter-i um, cetobacter xylinum. The amount of CMC and growth time on the mechanical and swelling prop- erties of nanocomposite wereresearched and analyzed. Results as followings: The structure of BC was affected by CMC in the growth medium during the growth process. T he crystallinity and width of f-i brous belt of BC were reduced; tensile strength of the nanocomposite was reduced while the water content and rehydration ratio were increased obviously. The adding of CMC improved the low rehy- dration ratio of BC after dried to a certain extent.
