Now let’s see what will happen in this chapter. Companies are busy places. There are meetings every day. Claire is a new employee—everything is new for her. Today Claire and Steffi have a meeting at the bank, but there is a problem. Marc and Peter are not in the meeting room. As you listen to the story, think about the following questions: When a person arranges a meeting, what information is necessary? What are some ways of asking for the time? What do people do at a “business lunch”? Marc works in global operations. What kind of work is that? Answers When a person arranges a meeting, what information is necessary? A person who is arranging meetings must know the time, place, location, and which people will attend. Meeting participants should ideally know the meeting purpose and agenda.
