新生儿医院感染与护理行为危险因素分析 Introduction Newborn infections are one of the leading causes of mortality and morbidity in the neonatal period worldwide. Hospital-acquired infections (HAIs) during the postnatal period pose a significant health risk to newborns. Identifying the risk factors associated with hospital-acquired infections and developing strategies for prevention are crucial to reduce neonatal morbidity and mortality. This study aimed to analyse the risk factors of hospital-acquired infections and the nursing behaviors that could increase the risk of infections among newborns. Methodology A cross-sectional study was conducted among newborns in a tertiary care teaching hospital in China between June 2018 and February 2019. All neonates admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and neonatology ward during the study period were included. The inclusion criteria were all neonates aged less than or equal to 28 days admitted to the NICU and neonatology ward, and the exclusion criteria were neonates who had previously been hospitalized or transferred from other hospitals. Data were collected using a pre-designed questionnaire which was validated before conducting the study. Each baby was assessed for standard information on their demographics, gestational age, birth weight, feeding pattern, and diagnosis. The nursing behaviors of the caregivers were also observed using checklists. Results Of the 460 neonates admitted during the study period, 32 (6.9%) developed HAIs. The most common HAIs were bloodstream infections, followed by pneumonia, and urinary tract infections. Multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed that the significant risk factors for HAIs in neonates were low birth weight (OR=2.22, 95% CI 1.23-3.99), premature birth (OR=1.88, 95% CI 1.16-3.05), mechanical ventilation (OR=2.65, 95% CI 1.48-4.76), intravenous catheter (OR=1.98, 95% CI 1.09-3.59), and nasogastric tube feeding (OR=2.54, 95% CI 1.31-4.92). The nursing behaviors that incre
