【教学设计】The Human Development Report_ Teaching plan for Reading and Vocabulary, Module 2, Book3 Teaching objectives: 1. To get the students to be able to learn about the key words and phrases in this module. 2. To get the students to be able to learn about the Human Development Report to know the problems the developing countries face. 3. To develop the sense of students’ love to our country and home town. Before class 1. Get the students to tell the differences between the developing and developed countries. 2. Ask the students to tell the feature of the developin g and developed countries through doing the exercise 2 on page 11 of the Textbook In class Step1. Warming-up Show several groups of pictures to the class and get the students to know about the different living conditions and environment of people in the world. Thus, introduce the topic to be talked about in this class. Step2. Presentation 1. Learn about the key words and phrases. Key words: poverty, section, list, goal, measure, life expectancy, figure effort Key phrases: reduce poverty, at the top of, at the bottom of, make sure, up to, make progress ,make greater efforts 2. Scan the passage and match the subtitles(副标题)with the five paragraphs. Para 1 Para 2 Para 3 Para 4 Para 5 A. Give examples of successful development. B. Tell people the most important development goals. C. We should make greater efforts. D. The Human Development Report came from the agreement. E. Introduce the Human Development Index. 3.
