AbstractInordertoremovethenitrogenoxidesfromfluegas,Cr?Ce/TiO2catalystswerestudied forthe oxidation and reduction ofNOinthis paper. Thefollowingtasks werecarried out:Theeffectsofmolarratio,loadingofactivecomponentandcalcinationtemperature alongwiththenatureofsupportsontheperformanceofthecatalyticoxidationofNOwere examined.Themicrostructureofthecatalystscalcinedatdifferenttemperaturewas characterizedbyXRDandBET.TheCr?Ce/TiO2whichwascalcinedat350oCwithtotal loading30%andmolarratioCr/Ce=2/1showedperfectdispersityandstability.ThehighNO conversion of80.7%wasobserved over it at 330oC and spacevelocity10,000 h-1.TheeffectsofoperatingconditiononthecatalyticoxidationofNOwerealso investigated.ItwasfoundthatNOconversionincreasedwiththeenhancementofO2 concentration and decreased with theriseof NO concentration and GHSV.The reaction kinetic equation was expressed as:2rNO??kYNOaYOb??332.62exp??19968.93/RT??NO?0.93?O2?0.21TheeffectsofH2OandSO2onthecatalyticoxidationofNOwerestudiedbystep transientresponseexperimentsandFTIR.H2Opoisoningisreversible.AfterNOoxidation reactioninthepresenceofH2OandSO2,afewsulfatesandsulfiteswereformedcausingthe irreversibledeactivationofcatalyst.ThecatalyticactivityofdeactivatedCr–Ce/TiO2could recover mostlyafter heattreatment.Theeffectsofcalcinationtemperature,molarratioandloadingofactivecomponentas wellasoperatingconditionontheperformanceofSCRwereexamined.TheCr–Ce/TiO2 catalystshowinghighactivityforcatalyticoxidationofNOalsoperformedhighactivityforNH3-SCR.TheNOconversionof99.6%wasobservedat180℃andspacevelocity10,000h-1.NOconversionincreasedwiththeenhancementofO2concentrationandNH3/NO,and decreasedwiththeriseofNOconcentrationandGHSV.ThereactionofSCR followed Eley-Rideal mechanism.TheeffectsofH2OandSO2ontheperformanceofSCRwerestudiedbysteptransient responseexperimentsandFTIR.The10%(?)H2Ohadlittlenegativeeffectoncatalytic activity,andtheNOconversionwaskeptatlevelof97.7%.Thecatalystwasdeactivated irreversibllyinthepresenceofSO2duetothegenerationofexcessam
