ABSTRACT21 radiocarbon dates taken from pillars, beams and purlins of 12 buildings which are over geographical and temporal distance are compared with the record of the literature with the methods of comparison, exemplification and mutual verification. Then it sums up a distribution law that the “truth value” of the samples is always located at the end of the range of 68.2% probability.The distribution law is applied to the study of the history of Guanyin Pavilion combined with the methods of literature and archaeological typology with the old materials used in the dark aisle of the mezzanine story and over the caisson ceiling as research object.
