Good morning,everyone﹗My name is Wang Zhijun.I am from Huangcun Village School.Now I will say Section A Topic 3,Unit 2 of Grade 8.﹙This book is published by Hunan Education Press ﹚ I will prepare to say the lesson from four parts:
Part one Analysis of the teaching material
Ⅰ Status and function
This is an important part in this book.On the one hand ,it reviews some modals we have learned .On the other hand, it refers to the usage of some modals in questions.It introduces the serious disease SARS as well.It goes on talking about how to keep healthy.It is also the climax of this unit.Such a topic is related to daily life,so it is helpful to raise learning interests of students and it will be also helpful to improve their spoken English.
Ⅱ Analysis of the students
The students have learned some modals before ,so maybe they will be boring in learning them again.In my opinion,taking effective ways to enable the students to speak is more important.But probably students will be interested in talking about the SARS they have suffered.
Ⅲ Teaching aims and demands
㈠. Knowledge objects
1. Learn some useful words and expressions:hurry, hurry up, question, go ahead, spread, among, do exercise, all the time, keep away (from)
2. Go on learning the modal verbs “should” and “must”.
3. Master the verb phrase “have to”, “don’t have to” and “had better” to build up our bodies.
4. Talk about how to fight SARS.

(1) To develop the Ss’ abilities of listening, speaking and reading.
(2) To train the Ss’ ability of working in pairs or in groups.
(3) To develop the Ss’ abilities of communication by learning the useful structures.
