Should we Increase Price of Fossil fuel? There is growing apprehension that the government move to raise the prices of petroleum oil will leave an adverse impact on the economy of the country. Economists and business community leaders warn that any decision to indiscriminately increase the price of fuel oil like diesel柴油, kerosene煤油and petrol and furnace火炉 oil will seriously hamper the countrys agricultural sector and small and medium enterprises. The economists said, now the countrys agricultural sector is in a miserable condition due to different adversities. The government move to hike提高 the petroleum石油 oil price will create instability in the small and medium-scale industries and business enterprises, resulting in more economic instability in the country. If fuel price is increased, the agricultural production costs will rise to a large extent and the transportation expenditure will also increase largely. Increase in agricultural production spending and transportation expenses will surely cause more miseries to the common people. There is not doubt that any step to raise petroleum products will result in negative impact on the national economy. The fuel price rise will badly affect the countrys agriculture and transportation sector. It should be remembered by the policy-makers that it is not hard for them to coordinate the price of petroleum products in the country. There is no option but to coordinate the fuel oil price to mitigate the sufferings of the common people through lessening the adverse impact of raising prices of the essential products. The countrys agricultural sector and transportation industry mainly depend on diesel. So, the prices of other petroleum products except diesel should be increased more in a bid to coordinate the prices of fuel oil so that the price of the diesel remains within the reach of common people.
