The legal materials translated by the author include a variety of contracts in which there exist quite a lot of passive sentences or phrases. Since passive sentences frequently appear in legal documents, the quality of their translation, to a large extent, affects the quality of the translation of the whole text. So in this translation report，the author discusses the translation of passive sentences in English employment agreements. Firstly, the author gives a brief introduction of the materials, introduces the four main functions of passive sentences in legal documents and states the general and specific principles of legal translation; Then, by analyzing the passive sentences in the employment agreements, the author explores the translation strategies by which the passive sentences are translated into active sentences , passive sentences and non-subject sentences; Finally, the lessons learned in the process of translating and other problems confronted by the author are dealt with.
