Abstract: Supported nanocrystalline titanium dioxide (TiO ) was prepared by a post-synthesis step via Ti-alkoxide hydrolysis through

the use of mesoporous SBA-15 and MSU-1 silica. The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction, nitrogen adsorption, fourier
transform infrared spectroscopy and diffusive reflective UV–vis spectroscopy, and the photodegradation of MB was performed in order to
evaluate the photocatalytic activity of prepared titania/silica materials. Experiments results indicated that catalyst 30 % TiO2/SBA-15-700
had the highest rate constant of 0.0637 min−1, which was much higher than that of P-25 (0.0297 min−1). But the catalysts TiO /MSU-1 did

not show high photodegradation ability, which were much lower than that of 30 % TiO2/SBA-15-700 sample.
