摘要 对于译者所处的地位，翻译界内从未有定论。有理论支撑说他处于支配地位， 也有理论说他处于被支配地位。本文通过翻译英国凯文·威廉姆斯教授所撰《一天给 我一桩谋杀案——英国传媒与通讯史》中第 12 章，英国传媒在二战后结构与标准的 变化内容，结合译者平时所学理论与方法进行分析。在翻译整个过程中，即包括选材、 翻译、翻译学理论构建和对语言文化贡献这几个方面，译者都是处于主体地位。译者 是翻译的主体，正如人是社会的主体，拥有自主与自由权；但自由也是一种责任，不 是肆无忌惮、无所顾忌，因此译者在具体翻译时就会遇到许多具体问题。翻译中选择 归化还是异化就是翻译主体所要面对的一大问题。主体性肯定了其能动性，但是能动 性受各种因素的制约，例如原文语言、原语文化、时间检验及译者本身的义务。在综 合考量之下，译者应该尊重现实存在的东西，也就是对原文中的各种特色，或是对异 质性东西进行保留，因而选择异化翻译。 关键字：译者主体性 异化 归化 ii ABSTRACT There is no definite answer to what the status of the translator is in the act of translation. Some theory argues that it is the subject of the act, while others hold the opposite opinion, thinking translators are in position no higher than that of a servant . In this paper, after translating Chapter 12 of Get Me a Murder a Day—A History of Media and Communications in Britain written by British professor Kevin Williams, the ―Declining standards and structural change in the contemporary media‖, the author makes a thorough analysis of translation theories and skills learnt before. The translator exhibits subjectivity in translation and that can be proved throughout the entire translation process—choosing the material to be translated, translating the article, summing up translation theory after translating and mak ing contribution to language expression and cultural diversity. With subjectivity, the translator has great power to manoeuvre the process in his own wishes, but he or she still has obligations to fulfill, and that obligation greatly affects his or her way of translation.
