Educational Evaluation: Contradiction and Analysis
Abstract: The new curriculum reform process needs to correctly handle the contradiction between a few pairs, namely, the theory of educational evaluation models and procedures of the contradictions, quantitative evaluation and qualitative evaluation of the contradictions, as well as the evaluation method of ‘Westernization’ and localized conflicts. To claim that dogmatic an approach to evaluation of the rationality and irrationality, not conducive to evaluation of reforms; simply copy the Western countries, evaluation methods, especially in some foreign countries have been eliminated method, the theory of innovation in the negative; to a specific context for the based, dispassionate study of educational evaluation, with long-term and universal significance.

Abstract: Several pairs of contradictions should be correctly handled in the course of the new curriculum reform, which involve the contradiction between the theory model of educational evaluation and operational procedures, the contradiction between quantitative evaluation and qualitative evaluation, the contradiction between evaluation’s westernization and nationalization . It is unbeneficial for the evaluation reform to arbitrarily declare the rationality or irrationality of one kind of evaluation. Meanwhile it is unbeneficial for the innovation of evaluation theory to simply duplicate the evaluation method from western countries, especially those methods having being eliminated by those countries . The educational evaluation research based on some specific situation and calmness bears permanent and general significance.
