On the basis of the comprehension of “Technical specifica tion for safety of tube - and - coupler scaffold used in building construction”and “Design and calculation of tube - and - coupler scaf fold/ formwork support ”, the current design and calculation of tube - and - coupler formwork support have been deeply discussed in the paper. When the calculation is made for the stability of the vertical members of the formwork support , the provisions in the tech nical specification must be fully comprehended.
