艾条熏蒸空气消毒的研究进展 Abstract As the COVID-19 pandemic swept across the world, the importance of air disinfection became increasingly evident. Aerosol transmission has been identified as a major route of transmission for the virus, and therefore effective use of air disinfection measures is crucial in controlling the spread of the disease. One such measure is fumigation with Artemisia annua, or ai tiao. This paper aims to review current research on the effectiveness of ai tiao fumigation in air disinfection. Introduction The COVID-19 pandemic that began in late 2019 has had a significant impact on the world. By August 2021, the virus had infected over 200 million people and claimed over 4.5 million lives worldwide. One of the challenges of controlling the spread of the disease is that the virus can be transmitted via aerosols, which are tiny particles that can remain suspended in the air for extended periods. This mode of transmission has led to a renewed focus on air disinfection measures, including fumigation with Artemisia annua, commonly known as ai tiao. Artemisia annua has long been used in traditional medicine to treat conditions such as fever, malaria, and gastrointestinal disorders. In recent years, scientists have discovered that the plant contains a compound called artemisinin, which has potent antimalarial and antiviral properties. Research is currently ongoing to determine whether artemisinin can be used in the treatment of COVID-19. Several studies have also investigated the effectiveness of fumigating with Artemisia annua in air disinfection. This paper will review the current state of research on the topic. Methodology A literature search was conducted using the PubMed and Google Scholar databases. The search terms used were Artemisia annua, ai tiao, air disinfection, and COVID-19. Articles were included if they discussed the use of Artemisia annua as a fumigant for air disinfection or if they investigated the antiviral properties of the plant.
