It is characterized by recurrent episodes of wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, and shortness of breath. These symptoms can be triggered by a variety of factors, including allergens, exercise, cold air, and viral respiratory infections. Acute asthma exacerbations can be life-threatening and require prompt intervention to prevent severe complications. In recent years, there has been increasing interest in the use of family-centered care in the management of pediatric asthma. Family-centered care is an approach to healthcare that emphasizes the importance of the family unit in the care of children. It recognizes that families are the primary source of support and care for children, and that their involvement is essential for the healthy development of children. The purpose of this paper is to review the literature on the use of family-centered care in the management of acute asthma exacerbations in children. Methodology A systematic review of the literature was conducted using several electronic databases, including MEDLINE, CINAHL, and Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews. The search was limited to studies published between 2010 and 2020 and focused on the use of family-centered care in the management of acute asthma exacerbations in children. The following keywords were used to identify relevant studies: “pediatric asthma,” “acute exacerbations,” “family-centered care,” “social support,” “education,” and “self-management.” Results A total of 15 studies were included in the review. All studies were conducted in developed countries, primarily in the United States and Europe. The studies varied in design, sample size, and the types of interventions used. Most studies focused on the effects of family-centered care on asthma outcomes, including hospital readmissions, emergency department visits, and asthma-related quality of life. Th
