● Teaching steps:
Step1. Warm up:
T: Class begins! Morning! Boys and girls!
S: Morning ,teacher! T: Sit down, please!
Step2. Listen to this
1. Play the tape, stopping after each sentence, and have
the children point to the corresponding picture. Have the children nod their heads if the person likes the animals, or shake their heads if the person doesn’t like the animals.
2. Play the tape again, stopping after each question and answer. Explain that this time the children need to check ( √) or cross ( × ) the box next to each picture according to what was said on the tape. Have them check (√) the boxes next to the animals the person likes, and cross ( × ) the boxes next to animals the person doesn’t like.
3. Check the answers with the children.
Step 3. Sing a song
1. Explain to the children that they are going to learn a new song.
2. Play the song once without stopping and have the children listen. Encourage them to clap in time to the music.
3. Play the tape again, this time stopping after each line. Have the children practice singing each line after they hear it on the tape.
4. Now play the song without stopping, and have the children sing along.
Step 4. Talk together
1. Have the children turn to page 6. Draw their attention to the top of the page. Show your copy of the page. Point to the first picture. Ask the children if they remember the name of the day. Try to elicit, “ It is Sunday.” Then ask :What day is it today? Try to elicit the other day.
