Due to the er rors, the results of the researches are unreliable and incomparable. Themain problem is that the as set and production have been confounded. Th is paper also points out that the causes of these errors root in thew rong translation of the summary of theUN Framew ork forM illenn ium Ecosystem Assess ment wh ich has been d issem inated broadly in Ch ina and the ambigu ity in the earlier researches and practices. The worse is that the national standard on Specification for assessment of forest ecosystem services in Ch ina published recently may continue to blow up the errors.
