The paper discussed how to judge the ill-posed problem when used a specific conversion model to determinate the transformation parameters. Bursa - Wolf transformation model suitable for coordinate conversion in worldwide, if it is used in small area most likely to cause the ill- posed problems. Therefore, in the text, select Bursa - Wolff model for the study, judge it whether ill-posed in determination of rectangular space coordinate transformation parameters are most representative. The article first analyzes the common model from rectangular space coordinate to geodetic coordinate. On this basis, analyzes the mathematical reason cause the equation ill-posed when to determinate the transformation parameters and the inadequate of the condition number judge the equation whether ill-posed. Finally, by calculating the value of coefficient matrix to determinate the equations whether ill-posed and calculated by simulation experiments show the feasibility of the value of coefficient matrix method.
