China LeafTobacco Corporation, Beijing 100055, China) Abstract:The effectof fan speed controlled by inverter during the later leaf- drying stage and the stem - drying stage ofbulk curing on sensory quality, chem ical components, smoking quality, percentage of grade, energy consumption and curing cost of a tobacco cultivarG80 were studied. The results showed that reducing fan speed appropriatly during the later bulk curing could reduce energy consumption and cost ofbulk curing, increase percentages ofhigh andm iddle grade tobacco leaves, mi prove sensory quality, chem ical components harmony and smoking quality, especially quality of aroma, volum e of aroma, irritation and taste of tobacco leaves, ofwhich T4 ( fan speedwas 960 r/m in during the later leaf- drying stage and 720 r/m in during the stem - drying stage) was the best.
