It begins with a XML specification, and we use STEP for CAD/CAM systems. Inside the system environment, there are two types of data that the enterprise needs to properly manage, i.e., business data (e.g., accounting and personnel data) and product data. All the application systems exchange data and store in database. In this environment, both business applications and engineering applications interact with each other while sharing product data distributed over those systems. The data information interchanging rule is defined in XML Schema. The product data through the product lifecycle can be reuse among different application systems. Users and application systems share product data in a product lifecycle environment, by developing a prototype of Product Lifecycle Management System (PLMS). Therefore, design data, production data, and even the owner’s manual will be able to store in the database To expect to integrate the environment in yacht building reaches the final resolve of increasing efficiency and improves the competitiveness of yacht building.
