ABSTRACTthe formation of a specific grammatical structure. There is selectivity of classifiers that matches a noun in the structure; one can select appropriate classifier to match a noun by the needs of semantic expression in practical application. The semantics of Tujia language noun classifiers are not as complex as Chinese ones, the concept meaning of many Tujia language noun classifiers is not obvious, additional meaning not rich, without the adding meaning of color justice. This chapter also compares the semantic range that Chinese and Tujia languages are common to have,such as category meaning、natural meaning and shape-defined meaning. Theconclusion is that the semantic range of Chinese and Tujia language noun classifiers is not completely symmetrical, and there are differences in practical application. All these are analyzed by way of example.Chapter V The grammatical features, structures and syntactic function of Chinese and Tujia language noun classifiers. For the grammatical features, the key difference of Chinese and Tujia language noun classifiers is that vast majority of Chinese noun classifiers may be overlapped, but that of Tujia language ones may not be overlapped directly. For grammatical structures, Chinese is more complex than Tujia language, Our survey result is that there apears nine structures in Chinese, the superiority structure of them is Num + classifier + N; there apears five structures in Tujia language, the superiority form among them is the N+Num+classifier .
