Maximum cable distance is 400 meters. 1000Base-SX Gigabit Ethernet over multimode optical-fiber cable, designed for workstation-to hub implementations using short-wavelength light sources. 1000Base-LX Gigabit Ethernet over single-mode optical-fiber cable, designed for backbone implementations using long-wavelength light sources. 1000Base-CX Gigabit Ethernet over STP Type 1 cabling designed for equipment interconnection such as clusters. Maximum distance is 25 meters 1000Base-T Gigabit Ethernet over Category 5 or better UTP cable where the installation has passed performance tests specified by ANSI/TIA/EIA-568-B. Maximum distance is 100 meters from network-interface card to hub. 1000Base-TX Gigabit Ethernet over Category 6 cable. Maximum distance is 100 meters from network-interface card to hub. 10Gbase 10 Gigabit Ethernet over optical-fiber cable.
