The MPLT system has a functional structure comprising water retention ponds atthe top, vegetation ?elds inthe middle, and the reservoir lake atthe bottom. Thedesignofthesystemisdescribed indetailinthisarticlebyreference totheWuyangBayinanurban wetlandpark.Face-to-facequestionnairesurveyrevealedthatthecommunityholdsapositivewillingness to participate in the MPLT project. Given signi?cant environmental uncertainties in this region, post- construction monitoring isrecommended foranextended periodinordertodetermine howitsbene?ts meetthepredictionsandfurtherinformadaptivemanagement andre?nementofthesystem.Theresults illustrate the value ofcombining modern ecological design with traditional land-based knowledge and community engagement whenseekinginnovative, site-speci?c, andmultifunctional landscapesolutions tochanging environments.
