The Difference between Chinese and American Cultures Reflected in The Treatment 由电影《刮痧》看中美文化差异 Submitted by Student number Supervised by Foreign Languages College Jiangxi Normal University May 2012 The Difference between Chinese and American Cultures Reflected in The Treatment Abstract: Since this planet becomes a global village, people from different countries communicate with each other much more frequently than any time before. And culture conflict absolutely stands out as a result of culture communication. In recent decades, more and more Chinese moved to America and settled down. As a result of emigration and academic exchange, Chinese-American culture conflicts can be easily found around ourselves. As we all know, movie has an advantage than any other medias that movie can show a problem completely in a very short time. The Treatment, the movie directed by Zheng Xiaolong is an outstanding one among them. There are six parts in my paper. In the first part, I would introduce the main culture differences between Chinese and American. I would compare-value system, law culture, face, education, from the second part to fifth part. I would explore culture differences between China and America through vivid example in and out of the movie. And I would also give the reason of the form of all these culture differences. With the examples I would also give the solutions of questions. In the last part I would conclude the thesis with the relationship between each culture and give suggestion to avoid making mistakes in inter-culture communication. Key words: Chinese and American culture difference; The Treatment; value system 由电影《刮痧》看中美文化差异 摘要:随着世界成为一个地球村，世界上各个国家的人们之间的交际比以前任何一个时期都频繁。而在跨文化交际中，中美文化交际显得尤为重要。近几十年中国人移民美国掀起一股热潮。当人们定居下来的同时，文化差异的种种就接踵而来。电影以其独特的叙事方式往往可以引起观众的共鸣。由郑晓龙导演所导演的电影《刮痧》又是反映中美文化差异的佼佼者。这篇论文可分为六个部分。第一部分总述电影《刮痧》中的主要的中美文化差异，现今社会中美文化交际的现状。第二至第五部分，我将详细介绍中美两种截然不同的价值体系，法律文化，面子问题，以及中美教育。本文将会运用电影中以及生活中的例子加以补充，并挖掘各个文化差异形成原因，以及各个文化差异内在的联系。最后一部分我将总结众多中美文化差异用一条线索串联起来
