PUNJAB INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT BOARDAccelerating economic growth through infrastructure development I????The Particulars of Organization, Functions Duties Creation of Quality Infrastructure in the State of Punjab : The Punjab Infrastructure Development Board (PIDB) was established by enacting the Punjab Infrastructure Development Act, 1998, which came as a major breakthrough providing for the overall development of infrastructure in the State of Punjab. In order to bring in broad based overarching regulatory framework, the Government of Punjab enacted an Act known as Punjab Infrastructure (Development Regulation) Act, 2002 (PIDR Act, 2002), which provides for a regulatory framework and guidelines for all aspects relevant for infrastructure development from the conception to the implementation through structures of Private Participation based on commercially accepted principles such as BOT, BOO, BOOT etc.  Organization set up : PIDB is a high powered body, with the Chief Minister as the Chairman of the Board. The Government of Punjab has notified PIDB under Section 18(1) of the PIDR Act, 2002. In accordance with the provisions of Section 18(2) of the PIDR Act, 2002, the organizational structure of PIDB is as follows: “(1) The Board established under sub-section (1), shall consist of a Chairman, Vice-Chairman and the following, namely:- (a) The Chief Minister of Punjab ..
