Its pathogenesis is that sorbitol metabolism, non enzymatic glycosylation abnormalities, essential fatty acid metabolic abnormalities caused by local small blood vessels in acute and chronic ischemia, hypoxia induced organ injury. The current treatment is not very ideal, and some drugs are expensive, so it is difficult for the patients in the primary hospital to accept. In this hospital from May 2001 to November 2003, the application of traditional Chinese medicine Huoxue Tongmai Jiangzhi, strong heart, pain, joint berberine and herbal medicine immersion and other comprehensive treatment measures, treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus (2-DM) in 36 cases, has a good curative effect. 1 data and methods 1.1 general information 36 patients met the criteria for diagnosis and classification of WHO diabetes mellitus in 1999 [1]. There were 16 males and 20 females, aged 28~81 years, with an average age of 58 years. The course of diabetes was 1~15 years. Subjective symptoms: chest tightness, palpitation in 9 cases, recurrent angina pectoris in 8 cases, frequent ventricular premature contractions in 5 cases, hand and foot numbness and limb pain in 22 cases, cold hands and feet in 12 cases. 1.2 major complications There were 18 cases of hypertension (stage III), 1 cases of cerebral hemorrhage, 5 cases of cerebral infarction, 2 cases of extensive anterior wall myocardial infarction, 9 cases of coronary heart disease, 2 cases of diabetic nephropathy, 3 cases of cataract, 4 cases of retinopathy. 1.3 treatment In 36 cases of 2-DM patients in the strict control of blood glucose (diet, exercise and drugs) positive control of blood pressure and correct dyslipidemia, the use of large doses of
