Most portion of the articles are composed of simple sentences without neither a confusing syntactic structure blending with complicated logic nor obscure professional terms, which proves our hypothesis incorrect. In fact, newspaper or magazines, as a means of mass media, principally aim at delivering information to as much as readers. They tend to condense and simplify the essays as far as possible in order to appeal to large amounts of readers. So we draw the conclusion that most reading materials tend to adopt explicit and simple sentences rather than “difficult” ones.
