0 Subject : Synthesis and Performance of a Nano-Fe Complex Chelating Adsorbent Specialty : Environmental Engineering Name : Liu Yong-mei (Signature) Instructor : Liu Zhuan-nian (Signature) ABSTRACT 0 0 0 In the paper, the nano-Fe complex chelating adsorbent (Fe /PEI, Fe /PP) was synthesized by cross- linking reaction of nano-Fe0 with polyethyleneimine (PEI) and polyethylene polyamine (PP), respectively. The optimum synthetic conditions, the properties of the complex chelating adsorbent on the removal of Cr6+, Pb2+, Ni2+ and the removal mechanism 0 0 were studied. The physicochemical structures and morphology of Fe /PEI and Fe /PP were characterized by FT-IR, SEM, XRD and XPS. The results showed that the optimum synthetic conditions is that glutaraldehyde act as cross-linking agent, PEI or PP: nano-Fe0 is 1:4 (w:w), 20 ℃ and stirring for 4h. The chelating adsorptions tended toward equilibrium at 60min and 0 0 0 6+ the monolayer adsorption saturation capacity (Q ) of Fe /PEI and Fe /PP for Cr were 165.25 and 138.65mg·g- 1 respectively at 20 ℃. Adsorption k inetic data were found to follow the pseudo second-order model and the equilibrium data fitted very well with the Langmuir equation.
