A bstract: User requ irem ent is not considered in existing spectrum allocation algorithm s for the cogn itive radio, wh ich
results in excessive allocation of resources to users w ith less dem and. To solve the above problem, tw o spectrum allocation
algorithms, wh ich included spectrum allocation algorithm based on user requ irem ent and joint proportional fairness algorithm,
were proposed. They both consider user requ irem ent as the needed factor of spectrum allocation. Num erical results ind icate
that these wt o algorithm s are better satisfied w ith users requirem ent than the previous algorithm s.
