(Dep artment fo Urolog , HuanshanHosp ital, Shanghai Medical Universit , 200040) = Abstract Purpose: The aim of the pre ent tudy were to compare the efficacy in the prevention of tumor recurrence, di- ea e free interval and ide effect of intrave ical epirubicin or mitomycin C po toperatively in uperficial bladder tumor, and to de- termine the fea ibility of ingle do e intrave ical epirubicin. Methods: A total of 103 po toperative patient with tage Ta to T1 primary uperficial, grade 1 or 2 bladder carcinoma wa randomized into tudy group A- ingle 80 mg do e of epirubicin, B-40 mg epirubicin con ecutively, C-40 mg mitomycin con ecutively . Patient were followed for clinical, analytical , and cy to copic evalu- ation every 3 month . Results: The recurrence rate were 22. 2% ( 8/ 36) 18. 2% ( 6/ 33) 21. 9% ( 7/ 32) of group A, B and C 2 at 1 year after operation, re pectively ( V , P 0. 05) . Side effect of A group
