WhatisBenchmarking?

Benchmarkingisacommonactivityformanypeople,initssimplestformcomparisonof

performanceagainstanothersimilaractivity,perhapsjusttocheckthatwearegetting

thebestresultsorthebestvalueforaparticularitem.Thishappensinallwalksoflife.

Therearemanydifferentperspectives–herearetwoexamples:

servicesandworkprocessesoforganisationsthatarerecognisedas

representingbestpracticesforthepurposeoforganisationalimprovement.”
