A corporations research policy and its strategic direction may also not accord with the developing countrys interests and needs. A companys location policy, for example, of production facilities, is largely determined by economic standard (e.g. volume of production, market size, availability of high quality raw materials and technical skills), and not by a governments need to become self-sufficient through the local production of specific goods. There are other potential areas of conflict that differ from company to company and country to country.
