Bilingual identity of Vietnamese MARK international school students Trang Thi Thuy Nguyena,b,⁎, Hoa Thi Mai Nguyenc a School of Education, University of Queensland, Australia b Kon Tum College, Kon Tum, Vietnam c School of Education, University of New South Wales, Australia A R T I C L E I N F O A B S T R A C T Keywords: This article examines bilingual identity of Vietnamese international school students as reflected in their Bilingual identity language practices and language beliefs (Spolsky, 2004). It seeks to identify the factors related to socio- Bilingualism cultural connection, interaction and investment (Fielding, 2015) that influence their bilingual identity. Identity Interviews with three students were the main source of the data. Findings reveal that a number of International school factors had an impact on the students’ ways of practising Vietnamese and English and shaping their Language practices beliefs of the languages.
