We launched supportive policies. We matched relief with their needs. With local efforts backed up by central government support and boosted by a national campaign, we rebuilt housing, public facilities including schools and hospitals as well as infrastructure and industries. Local economy was restructured. Heritage sites were protected. Ecology was restored. The initial stage success put the people of Wenchuan firmly on their way to a new life. It laid the foundation for work of the next stage. 要推进重建。坚持以人为本，以解决民生问题为重点，优先恢复基本生活和公共服务设施，确保群众早日住上永久性住房。恢复提高教育、医疗卫生、文化体育等公共服务水平，提高基础设施保障促进特色优势产业发展，建设人民安居乐业、城乡繁荣、人与自然和谐相处的新家园。 The reconstruction must continue. We must put people first. Their livelihood must be the priority. The restoration of their basic living and public services should come first. We need to ensure that local people move into permanent housing as early as possible. We need to restore and improve the level of public services in education, health care as well as culture and sports. Infrastructure resilience needs to be improved. Industries special to the region need to be promoted. We want to see our people happy with their home and work. We want to see prosperity in both cities and countryside.
