Explore how to combine peer education with prenatal breastfeeding education in accordance with the recent situation in China. Observe the influence on breastfeeding rates of postpartum in three days by the prenatal breastfeeding peer education as a new method of prenatal health education. Discuss the effect of prenatal peer education on maternal prenatal breastfeeding self-efficacy. Methods This study is a randomized controlled study. 20 primiparas of 28 gestation weeks in Sichuan Provincial Peoples Hospital maternity clinic were selected as research subjects on each first day from March, 2012 to June (80 over 4 months), and randomly divided into experimental and control groups with ten people respectively (40 over 4 months). The controlled group were divided by traditional education and regular health education during pregnancy; The experimental group were divided by the breastfeeding peer education based on health education during pregnancy. Each selected object would get trained at the very beginning of the month, the controlled group would get breastfeeding training since 28th week, the experimental group would get once peer education training based on traditional education since 28th week, 30th week, 32nd week, 34th week, 36th week respectively. All the data processed by SPSS17.0 software.
