Prior to implementing the modules for staff training, the administrative team will meet to review concurrent planning practice in the county, review the curriculum content and determine which segments are applicable to their staff. Administrative teams may determine that all the modules will be used, that only certain modules will be used or that only certain segments within a particular module will be used. Administrative teams will also determine who will participate in the training and whether or not parent advocates, foster parents and/or youth will co-train. The training for staff is comprised of three modules: Module A: Concurrent Planning Essentials Module B: Concurrent Planning Practice Skills Module C: Concurrent Planning Partnerships Within each module, the content may be customized to better reflect county policies and practice. Segments that may be customized are indicated within the trainer’s guide. This curriculum was designed to be presented by teams of trainers including experienced trainers and parent-advocates, resource parents and/or youth. Furthermore, some segments are identified as especially applicable for a co-trainer with specific experience related to child welfare.
