TheSignificanceofserumProcalcitoninintheDiagnosisandPrognosisofBurnSepsisAbstractResearchbackgroundandobjectives:Burnisanopentypepathologicaldamage.Becausetheskinofpatientsisdamaged,pathogenicmicroorganismscaneasilycolonizeonburnwoundsthenpropagateandinvadethebody.Thewetandwarmburnwoundsbecomegoodculturemediumforthegrowthandreproductionofbacteria,andtheimmunefunctionofseverelyburnedpatientsisdecrease,thesearethecontributingfactorsfortheoccurrenceofburnsepsis[1].Soburnsepsisisanimportantcomplicationinpatientswithsevereburns,andthesuccessfullytreatmentofburnsepsisisthekeytosuccessinrescueofburnpatients.Symptomsofsystemicinflammatoryresponse(SIRS)easilyoccursinpatientswithextensiveburns,whichissimilartoburninfectionandmakesitextremelydifficulttodiagnoseburnsepsisearlyinclinic.Althoughbacterialcultureofbloodsamplesplaysanimportantroleinthediagnosisofburnsepsis,thelowerpositiverateandlongtimetoseparatingpathogenicbacteriummakeitdifficulttoprovideanearlydiagnosis.Soasimpleandrapiddetectionmethodisneededfortheearlydiagnosisandprognosis.Whenthereisalocalinfectionorvirusinfection,theserumPCTlevelswerenotincreasedorincreasedalittle.ButtheserumPCTlevelsweresignificantlyincreasedafter2-3hoursofsystemicinfectionorseriousbacterialinfection.Therefore,serumPCTshowedgoodsensitivityandspecificitytobacterialinfection.AndserumPCTlevelsarepositivelycorrelatedwiththeseverityofbacterialinfection,thelevelscanreducetonormalaftercontrollinginfection.SoserumPCTcanbeusedasareliabilityindexfortheearlydiagnosisandprognosisofburnsepsis.ThepresentstudyintendstodiscussthesignificanceofserumPCTlevelsinthediagnosisandprognosisofburnsepsis.Thispaperincludesthreeparts:thefirstpartevaluatedthepredictiveeffectofserumPCTonburnsepsisinburnshockstage,thesecondpartsummarizedtheeffectofserumPCTlevelsondiagnosisofburnsepsis,thethirdpart2analyzedtheeffectofserumPCTlevelsontheprognosticofburnsepsis,toprovidedefiningcharacteristicsforthetreatmentofsepsispatientswithextensiveburns.MaterialsandmethodsAtotalof60case
