And to assess that whether blood S100B protein could be a new effective marker of predicting outcome after traumatic brain injury． Methods :We collected the blood of 20 heath person and the blood of 44 TBI patients on admission, on the first day after injury,On the third day after injury and on the seventh day after injury.Then dynamically detected the levels of blood S100B protein by ELASA and assessed the outcome of six mouths after injury by use of GOS grading.They were divided into unfavorable prognosis group (n=21)and favorable prognosis group(n=23) according to GOS grading.The HYPERLINK dict://key.0895DFE8DB67F9409DB285590D870EDD/numerical%20variable numerical variable were expressed by x ± s.The data were compared by independent samples t-test or nonparametric tests according to the corresponding style.Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to evaluate the predictive value of GCS grading and blood S100B on admission.We searched studies with quantitative data using the items “S-100 or S-100B, cerebral trauma or traumatic brain injury or HYPERLINK dict://key.0895DFE8DB67F9409DB285590D870EDD/head%20injury head injury or HYPERLINK dict://key.0895DFE8DB67F9409DB285590D870EDD/cerebral%20injury cerebral injury, HYPERLINK dict://key.0895DFE8DB67F9409DB285590D870EDD/prognosis prognosis or outcome ” through searching 8 databases on line(Oct．1999-Oct．2011),which were written in English or Chinese．In this paper,we used the method of meta-analysis and the softwares of Revman4．2 and Stata11.0，to analysis all the studies which comparing the situation of the blood
