Grammar 动词不定式 动词不定式的功能及用法： 动词不定式不仅具有动词的特性，有自己的宾语和状语，还具有名词、形容词的特性，在句子中可以作主语、宾语、表语、宾补、定语和状语。 不定式作主语 1）原则上，可以用不定式直接作句子的主语，放句首 e.g. To learn a foreign language well takes painstaking efforts. 2）但通常用it 作形式主语，而把不定式移到后面 e.g. It takes painstaking efforts to learn a foreign language 3) 如果要说明不定式的动作是谁做的，可以在不定式前面加上“for+名词或代词” 或“of+名词或代词”(后者结构中的形容词是那些可以表示人或事物的性质或品质的好坏的形容词：bold, brave, careful, careless, cowardly, cruel, foolish, generous, good , honest, kind, nice, polite, rude, selfish, silly, stupid, thoughtful, thoughtless, wise, wrong… e.g. It is a great honour for us to be present at this rally. It’s kind of you to do me such a favor. 2. 不定式作宾语 1）不定式可以跟在实义动词后面做宾语。 e.g. The astronomer claims to have discovered a new planet. 2) 只可以用动词不定式作宾语。这些动词有： afford, agree, arrange, ask, attempt, choose, claim, dare, decide, demand, decline, desire, determine, endeavour(努力，尽力）, expect, guarantee, help, happen, hope, learn, long, manage, mean, offer, plan, pledge（发誓，保证，决心）, prepare, pretend, refuse, promise, resolve, seek, strive（努力，奋斗）
