Section A The First McDonald’s Restaurant The first two periods: I. Warm-up activities 1) Ask them something about their holiday. 1. Did you have a good time during your holiday? 2. What did you do during your holiday? 2) Ask them some questions and discuss. 1. Do you like eating fast food? 2. What is your favorite fast food restaurant? 3. Why do you think many Chinese people like to go to McDonald’s or KFC? 3）Talk about the history of McDonald’s. McDonald’s is the world’s largest restaurant corporation with more than 30.000restaurants in 119 countries serving 46million customers each day. In the United States, there are more than 5000 restaurants. And the first McDonald’s was built in 1953 in Downey, California. In 1955, Kroc set up the McDonald’s Corporation. II. New words First ask students to read the new words by themselves. Then call some students to read the words and correct some mistakes. At last, read together. III.
