AbstractWestern modern art is a great change in art history. After it occurred, the constraints in traditional art became weak, which gives art a bright and free future.Western modern art is born in a historical period, full of changes and innovations. Under this condition, art has had a huge change because of the influence of science and technology innovation and philosophy. This change is mainly reflected in two aspects: art forms and artistic conception. Firstly, the form of Western modern art has a new exploration, more complication, decorative forms and three-dimensional abstract forms occur, which offers a new way for the art performance. Secondly, the generation of western modern art also broke the traditional concept of art, leaving art become free from the traditional concept of realism. The way Artists show their emotion also changed. The creative process of art is full of infinite possibilities. Western modern art for art development has brought the huge change. It has more openness and inclusiveness, which also influences and promotes each other, among various schools as well as the acceptance and absorption of new elements, making western modern art develop more quickly. The last part of the thesis mainly discusses the significance and impact of western modern art, western modern art is a successful revolution, it has significant progress. Both its art ideas and works of art have the new positioning and richer connotation.
