Following on the worldwide shift of manufacturing bases in the last century, services outsourcing and offshoring now represent the latest wave in the global realignment of economic activities. Given the shrinking domestic workforce in many developed countries, increasingly fierce competition and greater pressure on profit margins faced by major global corporations, services outsourcing and offshoring are now fast becoming a key component for these corporations to arrange its global footprint and enhance international competitiveness. 95% of Fortune 1000 companies have already formulated offshoring strategies.
