The res lts show that it w as fatig e fract re on acco nt of higher initial stress. The th ird tenonwh ich end res the biggest stress m akes non- niform contactw ith the splinew ay. The serio s concentratedw ear leads to crack. The carbide film w hich ism assive and consec tive on the grain bo ndary and the m ischcrystal accelerate the in itiation and propagation of the crack.
