Unit 6 I like music that I can dance to. Reading I only eat food that tastes good. Part 1 Analysis of the teaching material: This lesson is about reading . It plays a very important part that develop students reading ability and increase the new words and phrases. Part 2 Analysis of Students : Ss have leant English for more than two years. Basic knowledge is OK. But reading ability is poor. Part3 Teaching aims: 1) Ss can use the following words and phrases : sweet, taste, actually, fry, mainly, itself, type, increase, risk, main, shock, to be honest, be bad for, stay away from, be in agreement. 2)Ss can use the attributive clause. 3)Train the students’ ability of reading Part4 Teaching Key Points and Teaching Difficult Points: 1) Read the text to identify main idea. 2) Read the text to understand some important words, phrases and sentences. 3) Train Ss reading ability. Part 5 Emotional aims: Ss should realize that having a balanced and healthy diet is important. Part 6 Teaching Steps: Step 1 Revision Ask Ss to use the attributive clause and answer the following questions . This step can lead new words. What kind of music do you like? What kind of movies/clothes do you prefer What kind of clothes does she prefer? What about food? What kind of food do you prefer? Why? Do you prefer to eat…? Why or why not? Step2 Presentation T: Here are some other foods. (show some pictures about some food. ) What are they? Do you like eating them/it? What do you think of them/it? Present: stay away from, be bad for, cause cancer… T: Look at the diets of two people. Discuss which diet is healthier and why. Step 3 Reading 1. Read the text for the first time and answer the two questions. 1) How many people are talking in the passage? 2) What are they talking about? 2. Read again and fill in the form according to the passage. 3. Do true or false. 1) Peter prefers too much fried foo
