1100-1115hrs –Challenge: “Stranded!” EXPLAIN: Within a few days, and purely by luck, another plane lost in the area also lands on the island. It’s a small plane and can only board one additional passenger. Only one of the seven survivors can get on the plane. Note that the plane does not have a GPS system so it is very unlikely that the pilot can locate the island again after flying off. ASK: “What is a facilitator?” Using the flip chart pad, note a few of the responses. Then, present: Technically, facilitate means, “to make easier.” Then, lead participants in a brainstorm to throw out the roles of facilitators. After getting a few of those responses up, build on what has been said.
