Care on the rehabilitation of patients with Parkinson’s
Parkinson’s disease, also known as paralysis agitans, is a common neurodegenerative disease in the elderly. Resting tremor, bradykinesia, muscle rigidity and gait abnormalities as the main clinical features. Easily lead to intelligent loss, abnormal gait, behavior, speech disorder and other neurological movement disorder seriously affect the quality of life for patients and their caregivers were treated in our department from January 2008 -2010 December 53 cases of Parkinson’s patients, the implementation of rehabilitation care and achieve good results are presented as follows .
1 clinical treatment 53 cases of this group of patients, 28 males and 25 females, aged 58-76 years old, have varying degrees of tremor, walking obstacles, muscle rigidity, and bradykinesia.
2 care
2.1 The diet care given high-calorie, high vitamin, low salt, low fat, low cholesterol, the amount of quality protein (high protein dietary intake can reduce the release of levodopa) digestible diet, Eat small meals, eat more fruits and vegetables light condition of the patients given normal diet, salivation excessive difficulty in opening mouth with a straw, dysphagia patients given a semi-liquid and liquid diet. Eating to make the patient to maintain the sitting position, elbows in front of the desktop support, focused, such as tremor serious transformation tableware, chopsticks replaced with a spoon or spoon fingers, the bottom of the bowl in the bottom of the plate plate around the suction cups fixed on the desktop, plus height of about 2-3cm retaining edge to prevent the patient to sprinkle the food to the desktop, prevent patients from the dishes knocked cause burns or increase the patient’s frustration, while reducing care the labor intensity, and enhance the patient’s self-confidence.
