The resu lts show th at the girders are falling dow n from supports under the m a in earthquake, and are possib ly fa lling o ff the p iers under aftershock s. T he prevent ion devices o f falling g irder are designed for the bridge on account o f the deck falling, the re lative d isplacem ent bewt een the sup erstru cture and the sub stru cture of the bridge is effectively redu ced, the integ rity and the ant-i pu sh ing rig id ity of the stru cture are increased, and the se ism ic load h ave being w e l-l distributed am ong the p iers.
